Pinched or damaged nerve?

Postby MB » Tue May 01, 2007 10:52 am

I have had long term numbness in my right foot like many of you.

My question probably does not have a simple answer, is this numbness caused by a nerve that is still slightly pinched or is the nerve still healing from the original injury?

I look forward to all comments.

Hi MB,

If the numbness has been long-term, then the nerve is still pinched or irritated and you will need to do something to relieve it before it will heal. The best solution is to rebuild the support structure of your back using a program like Dean recommends in his book, Rebuild Your Back. (See the Books page listed at the top of this page.)

The reason I call this the best solution is because it utilizes nature and common sense rather than drugs or surgery. I didn't want to have surgery under any circumstances and I don't believe pain killers really accomplish anything except to mask the pain.

Also read Dean's articles on sciatica, herniated discs and pinched nerves such as: Taking the Mystery Out of Sciatica.
