Hi
I've been told to check out the rebuild your back book but all I can find is the location to purchase the book - I know its called a donation but a forced donation is a required payment.
That being said I am very hesitant to pay for something site unseen. I don't make enough money that I can drop 20 bucks on a book that I have not previewed. Is there a place to actually preview this book?
Thanks

Yes, John, you can get a preview ... if you don't mind doing some clicking and reading for a few hours. I can understand your reluctance to send money for a product, sight unseen. I didn't like the idea, either, before I sent my credit card numbers ... wish I had a better idea ... but the transaction went smoothly and the product was a life-saver for me. Dean's main focus is getting the info out on his treatment options for back/neck/joint problems; the production costs for making the info available thru the internet, rather than producing a hard-copy book, are MUCH less. You can make your own hard-copies of the books (slightly over 100 pages each), after you download the e-books, for your own personal use.
I'd suggest reading the articles that Dean makes available on this website. Some of the info in the books is there. You can also check out if you like Dean's writing style ... and see if he's offering treatment options that would possibly be helpful for you.
I'd also take a wander around the forum and find posts sent from folks dealing with the same problems you've got. The e-books give the basic info, but participating in the forum, (asking questions, seeing what people with similar problems are doing, getting encouragement, and helping others as you heal) was also vital for my rehabilitation from sciatica.
There are also links to other related websites, that you can access by clicking on the RESOURCES link above. They provide a good overview of treatment options available today, besides the physical therapy that is recommended by Dean.
You might also want to post a summary of your symptoms (and treatments you've experimented with) and see if other forum folks have gotten help with RYB with those problems.

Thanks for the input. I have looked through this site a fair amount and have posted some questions. I guess that I am still not convinced that Dean's book is what I need. I currently am waiting for the results of a mri, and should know better what is wrong with my back soon. At that time I will have the information to post more specific questions.
Thanks again

Hi John,
You raise a couple of very good points.
My decision to go with "donations" started as a marketing experiment and it has gone through several variations since I created the site in 2003. For the first year, I simply gave away the books and asked for donations to keep the site going.
I'll give you three guesses how well that worked out.
The present variation is based on the PBS television model and was arrived at as a way for me to accommodate all the things people were requesting and still be able to maintain the website.
At this stage, (as you point out) use of the term "donation" is merely legal semantics.
On the other hand, the money you give really does go towards maintaining the website. There is no expense involved in the ebooks. My biggest cost right now is for advertising. If I didn't have that expense, the donation levels could be much lower.
On the preview question; Randolph covered that pretty well. The website is a preview of the books. If you found the articles helpful, then the books are going to be more of the same plus sections on physical therapy and exercises to help you with rebuilding.
Thanks for making the suggestions. It's feedback like yours that helps me see what people are thinking and how they're reacting to my crazy way of doing things.

Thanks for responding. I understand the whole donation thing. I am a visual person I like clear illustrations that support the text. I have seen some sites that allow the viewer to see portions of the book or just part of a page. Perhaps a table of contents. These are ways that would allow a limited preview without giving all away.
