Hi Jeff,

Are you getting Lower back pain also ?

"Normally" with Sciatic there will be Lower Back Pain associated with it .

Odd that you have it NOW in both legs .

I'd be tempted to get a 2nd opinion from another GP.

Hi Jeff

What is your GP recommending you do? Did the GP just send you out of the office with a prescription for some pain med, or recommend getting an MRI, or refer you to an orthopedic surgeon?

If your sciatica is the normal kind (not caused by cancerous tumors or diseases needing more aggressive medical treatment), you might give the RYB program a try. Has helped a lot of us here.

Sciatica is a bit weird. Some of us have back pain, some of us don't (I didn't have very much); most of us seem to have it in one or the other leg (right for me) ... theoretically it would seem to be possible to have both legs affected ... but that might be a red flag to get some professional medical opinion regarding this unusual symptom.

roving pain in left leg, and knee

Post by bslayers » Fri Oct 12, 2007 1:05 pm

3 weeks ago I hurt my back and the leg pain became intense. So, off to the Chiro, MRI done (one of the most painful experiences of my life, my leg bruised from the inside out). Chiro, recommends for only $5K I should decompress. First I didn't like the Chiro, he was always oblivious to my not being able to lay down and I was befuddled as to what to do until I found RYB which was so positive and gave actual direction that made sense.
One particular action I took and which I've done in the past for joint pain was to have my lower back stung by our bees. Bees have one of the most potent anti-inflammatory known to man. I've received 25 stings over 4 days. No pain in my back whatsoever but pain continues to show up in my knee almost the same time every night around midnight.
I am doing the basic exercises and wondering if anyone has further ideas about how to deal with the knee pain at night. I do end up with an ice pack on my back and that seems to help. The one exercise of standing up with my arms stretched above my head and leaning to the side, causes pretty severe pain in my knee cap when I lean to the left. Should I keep trying to do the stretch and fight the pain?
