Trying prolotherapy
Hi Yannick,
I am still pondering on getting the RYB book. I just really wonder how it is so different then all the stuff I have tried ( trust me I went to extensive researches with all kinds of experts). Also, I read posts from people on this forum and they have used the book for a short amount of time...what happens after? Just like many exercices I have tried, it makes you feel better at first but then your body gets used to doing them and you get into the plateau stage and do not progress anymore.
So... I am still...hesitating..........................
I have a dance background and also into pilates and yoga. I worked closely with a very qualified personal trainer, muscular therapist and so on.... I really really wonder how this book is different...
How did your second prolotherapy treatment went?
Take care for now,
Bikegirl

For the book 20$ is not that much money to pay for this.
If you say that yoga and pilates help you and the personal trainer has well then you might not need the book RYB.
I was not into yoga before.
Salut Yannick,
I just wanted to tell you that I met a new physio on Monday.
I never had a meeting with a physio like that before, he totally understood my pain and was able to understand the pattern. Unlike all the others I have seen, he performed a lot of tests confirming everything that I was saying. My evaluation is still not completed, I am going back tomorrow to finish it and receive the first treatment.
I will give this one a try and see what happens. He said he would be able to tell if I would need prolotherapy or not.
Honestly, after I met him, I felt like I had a lost 15 punds of pressure....
How are you doing? Is the pain changing or going away?

You need to get on this ASAP, i was very sceptic at first when i saw that you needed to do a donation.
I have paied 100$ for the losethebackpain program and it was pure crap.
I was so discouraged, i had just gotten back from our vacation in Riviere du loup with my girlfriend, there i had some huge pains all the way, i got into a fight with my girlfriend because i was in pain and that really messed up the vacation.
I understood her too she is active and i am sort of handicaped at the moment.
I went on the internet and needed to find a solution before that i had scraped my weekend at the waterslides and more.
I started to feel that sport medecin was a scam, giving me strengh exercises to do au compte de goutte. I did ask for streching but that was ignored.
The exercises given to me at Le centre de medecine sportive de laval where to hard on my body, so most of the time i was in more pain when doing them without any streching. Lets just say that they can go # themeselve because they are another well educated bunch of morons.
This is where in found the bebuild your back website, and decided to donate the 20$, after all i had tried everything else.
You need to read this book its amazing and Dean is amazing.
You have a complete streching section, rehydration for disk, strenghtening and more.
I am doing the advance exercises right now and feel great.
You will be amazed how much the streching can releive your back pain.
Its there that you will stop spending money on things that dont matter or give you temporary relief, so called specialist that talk with there mouths full of **** like the last i saw at Le centre medicale sprotif, she was an RPG i was on the waiting list for 6 months to meet her for posture re-education, she told me to stop the rebuild your back exercise and the strenghtening exercises, she seemed confused true out the whole exam, i asked her about some exercises like the cobra, the cat that are all in the RYB program she said she didnt know them, 80$ later i got out of there frustered has hell.
Get the RYB it will change your life honest to god[/quote]
Yannick I started the stretches a week ago and now am without sciatic pain I believe my health in my back will be restored and I never thought that was possilbe. How often do you do advanced exercises. Which ones brought you the best results. I appreciate very much any insight and wisdom. I'll look forward to a response. Thank you

Hi Thealia, i have a lot of work to do, sadly my pelvic wont stay in place GRRRRR.
I am now on my thrid prolotherapy session, hurts a lot but thats what it takes to get the ligaments strong again.
I do the advance exercices each day plus walking has much has i can, there are a lot of research on prolotherapy but you have to do something else to speed up the healing process.
I start by doing the cobra, and front bents, then the shurg, cat, then bridge, sit ups then ham streches, crunches, superman, one leg lifts, side leg lifts and thats about it.
I finish off everything with 10 minutes of inversion table.
Next week i start that spine force, my medical doctor told me that there are 180 small muscles that stop working when you get injured and i have been like this for 8 years now, worst i got 2 chiropratic adjustments each week for a year and a half. Doc told me that you are suppose to get no more then 10 GRRRRR.
So more damage to fix right there.
RYB is the best program i have ever been one, nothing is left to confusion, and it does what its says it will do, make you feel better.
During the day i will also do the standing bent, and the cobra if possible 3 times 30 seconds each.
My second prolo treatment i didnt get the desired effect so the doc up the dextrose dosage to 15% this time around, so far so good but it takes 6 weeks for a ligament to repair itself.

Re: Thealia
Thanks for the information, I did prolotherapy two times before both times it took about 8 treatments but then I felt great for one year. Two bad I didn't know about the exercises then. It was all out of pocket cost however and I am still paying off the debt. I go tomorrow for my third round of epidural cortisone shots. I have an excellent surgeon in Lancaster PA and between the stretches and the shots I have very little pain which is amazing except for mid back which doctor says might be from compensating to much.
I am praying and believing to be restored in my back to total health and be able to work again.
Thanks for your reply. I will pray for you as well.

How did prolotherapy help you? did it fix your weak ligaments and tendons?
This is so expensive the doc also gave me spine force to do to strenghten the weak spin muscles.
retraced your post
Ok Thealia i just retraced your post about prolo.
I understand you have DDD and sicatica, not sure why the medical doctor gave you prolotherapy because its not very recongnised for theses back pain issues. Or maybe at the time you got the treatment you where not doing any strenghtening exercices which are very important to do when you are doing the prolo treatments.
Prolotherapy strenghten the ligaments and tendons that have been lax over time.
My medical doctor who is giving me the treament told me that you cannot only do prolotherapy alone, he is giving me 3 spine force session to stabilize my pelvic and posture re-education, strenghten very small muscles along the spin.
This is what i like about this doctor he is honest and tells it like it is.
I am on treatment 3, treatment 2 was not effective enough, i was not sore the next day, he told me that the body adapted to fast and that at this point it becomes more of a person to person treatment where he needs to re-adjust the dosage for the dextrose solution.
Today i feel sore has hell so i guess it really is working.

Re: Trying prolotherapy
Hi Yannick,
I have been researching prolotherapy for a few months now. I have chronic cervical and upper back shoulder pain that lasted for years, and I have also tried all kinds of alternative therapies with temporary relief at best.. No official diagnosis since XRays and MRI are pretty much normal - the usual answer I get is that I have some muscle spasms, and irritation and should just have some massage or hiropractic treatment... At this point I feel like I exosted all other options but to try prolotherapy
I am very physically active, also in martial arts, but always working through pain..
You got the prolo back in 2008 - 5 years ago.. I would like to know if it worked for you. How are you feeling now? What was your experience with Dr Gaetan Brouillard, and would you still recommend him?
Thank you!
Roman
