I am new to the forum and thrilled to see so much great information and support. I have just received the results of my MRI. It reads:
Large posterior broad based disc herniation at L4-5 with associated degenerative change in the adjacent end plates. The disc, in combination with prominence of the facet jooints and ligamentum flavum results in moderately severe canal stenosis and severe bilateral lateral recess stenosis.
I have had on going back problems for 9 or 10 years but just thought I should do pilates and live with it . Have seen my GP about 3 or 4 times about it but she has always suggested strengthening my core and using anti inflammatories for pain when necessary. It has now become a real problem as I am in pain every day. Not so severe that I can't drive my kids to school but severe enough for me to have to lie down a lot through the day in between chores. I can't do any gardening or play any sport . I can only walk for about 15 mins before eburning pain sets in.
I guess what I really want to know is whether this book will help someone like me. I don't want to waste time on things that are not suitable for my particular injury but I also do not wanat to go under the knife!!
Any advice gratefully received
