Hi Pilch, I'm not a doctor, but based solely on your description, it doesn't sound like you have any serious alignment issues. If you did, your physio would have noticed them right off. One thing to keep in mind when doing the evaluations of your posture is that nobody is perfectly symmetrical. One ...

I'd be leary of anything a chiropractor was doing. I don't know about the specific things you describe, but they sound a little weird. I have learned from doing Dean's program that it isn't muscles that pull your neck out of alignment. So I doubt wearing weights will actually correct the problem. Ch...

Hi jakatak, From what I've read here and other places it's possible to have numbness anywhere from the toes on up. There is no predicting where it will occur. It might just be the bottom of the feet or the top of the feet or the knees or whatever. Everybody describes different symptoms. Seems to me ...

Hi Charles,

I don't think what your physical therapist is doing is dangerous. Dean talks about mobilization in his books and it is very helpful in my opinion. I think the only type of manipulation that could be considered dangerous is the aggressive cracking that some therapists use.

Hi Sven, I think what B2B meant by TV was that he does the exercise while watching TV. I could be wrong, but that's what I do so it made sense to me. On correcting the pelvic tilt, I think there are two factors involved. One is doing the exercises and the second is just being aware of when you're sl...

Hi JG, I'm just finishing up a lunch break so I'll make this quick. I'm no expert, but I think it would be OK to take a day or two off and then start back in. I can't see that it would hurt your progress in any way. However, having said that, I've found for me that the exercises usually help me limb...

Hi, On your first question: The general consensus seems to be that if one exercise causes your symptoms to get worse, that it's best to not do it. Just do the others. On the running question, my opinion is that it won't help you rebuild your back, so why risk hindering your recovery? I think the sma...

I agree with Seann. I've never heard of swelling as a symptom of sciatica. It has to be something else.

Hi KC,

The numbness will probably not get worse. It may stay the same, but most likely it will improve over time. It all depends on the extent of damage to the nerve.

Hi Robj, Welcome to the group. I've read your question several times over the past couple of days thinking I will try to give you some kind of a response. But I really don't know were to start. If you re-read your own question, I think you'll see what I mean. If I said, "I've been wearing really unc...

Hi Steven, Neck pain often takes longer to resolve than lower back pain. I had a couple of bad disks too and I thought it would take forever. I would say take a couple of days off from the exercises and then start back in slowly with just the basic stretching and mobilization exercises for the first...
