Epidurals
Hey all.... was wondering about your epidurals. Did they do a "guided fluoroscopy" or just a plain epidural. With the guided, you are normally sedated and put under. The pain doc then puts an xray machine over the area and he/she administered the meds right at the location. When I get mine, they put...

Injections
Hey Nidan I had them in 2006 and went 3 years with no pain, playing golf 6 times a week. Then I fell in Spain hiking on a mountain and had to go through 2 more injections again. They work great for me. I am out of pain and working out everyday. If you want, you can search my prior posts. Good luck. ...

They do help
Hey Unpilot I just had 2 epidurals and they should work for you. First have your pain doc give you a medrol pack. This is a cortisone regiment that you take for 6 days. See if you get any results, even minor pain reduction from this. It normally takes about 3 to 4 days before you will notice anythin...

Epidural
Very much so. Almost all of the burning sensation left. There was some residual effects, and the hip tightness took a while to disapate. Did you have yours done with a guided fluoroscopy? That is how they did mine and the results have been great. Also, are you doing PT? That is probably more importa...

On the road to recovery
Hey All I have just had my 2nd epidural injection on friday. I feel incredibly better with virtually no pain. Had my first day of PT since the epidural and was able to anything that the PT asked me to do with no pain at all. Some tightness still in the hip area, but virtually none. I do have to be c...

Hey Randolph 2
Hi Randolph I hope that all is well with you. I, unfortunately, have re-injured my back. Not as bad as previous incidents, but bothers me most of the day. I am in the middle of rehab again. Hopefully this one doesn't last as long as the prior event. I know that I am stronger than before so that shou...

Epidural????
Hey Cricketcrazy I have not posted on this site for a long time. It is not because of any problem with this site. On the contrary, this site was a "God Sent" for me. I have a large herniated disk at L4-L5. I had terrible sciatica in 2005 that lasted for 2 months, and again in 2006 that had me in bed...

Been there too.....
Hey Chewie688i Your situation sounds alot like mine. I too have a broad based herniation at L4-L5. I went 2 years trying to stretch, and I did find some relief. However, the 2nd time that the sciatica hit me, I could not get out of bed for 8 weeks.... the pain was so great. I went and had 2 epidural...

Hope this helps
Hey benseattle Just a piece of advice. When you first try the Teeter, it might be easier if you place a pillow under your head for a week or two, so as not to put too much extension on your lower back. That was all that I could do when my back was in extreme pain. Also, I have recently started a pil...

Inversion
Hi Benseattle I too have a large herniated disk, L4-L5. In 2006 I was in bed for 8 straight weeks. I had 2 epidurals, 3 weeks apart. After that I saw a certified McKenzie PT for 8 weeks, 3 times a week. My back never felt better in my entire life. That was 15 months ago. I was playing golf 4 times a...

1 Year Update
OK people... I know that I have not been posting as often as I should, but I have been reading all of the posts and do check in daily to see how everyone is doing. This is my 1 year anniversary since my epidural injections. I am constantly doing core strengthening exercises as well as Dean's RYB exe...

Hey Henry Just read your post. I too had such bad pain last year that I couldn't get out of my bed for 8 weeks. It was the worst pain that I could ever imagine. I had a bout the year before that was also brutal. I am not trying to talk you out of your surgery option. That is a decision that only you...

How long?????
kshum88 My first bout was in 2005 and lasted for approximately 3 months (slightly less). After that, had stiff back sometimes, but was able to most anything. Had my second episode in 2006. That lasted for 5 months, and would have been longer if I didn't opt for the epidurals (2 in 3 weeks time). I h...
