Pain in the Butt

Literally, this is what I am still getting after almost six months of exercises. Currently, no more pain on the back and leg. Hamstring is much more flexible and stronger than before. However, the pain in the butt is so difficult to get rid of as I am now even trying other butt exercises not in Dean...

Will Dean share his own experience

Dean, Thanks for this website which has been my inspiration during the past six months or so. I thought I was doing pretty good until a month ago a relapse happened to me. Now I understand that I need to take it gradually and slowly, and not rush things. Doing too much too much is a NO NO. There is ...

Randolph, It took you two years, huh? I started in early January and it has almost been six months. I recently had a relapse and now is back to square one. Kim, I am only recommend that you start with Dean's basic exercises, but do not push it. Otherwise, you will most likely get a relapse. Kevin

Poll for Timeframe of healing the nerve

All, I am interested in knowing other people's comments as to the timeframe for their sciatica sympton to go away. I have been experiencing pain for the past six months and just recently had a relapse. As Randolph described in his post that "Round 2 has begun" for me. I am not really discouraged as ...

Randalph, What do you think of Dr. Stuart McGrill's book? Is it helpful? I know he presented some ideas contradictory to Dean's method, such as avoiding doing certain excercises like sit ups, pelvic tilts, leg raises, etc. and recommend some others. I haven't read the book but am wondering if it is ...

Ken, I noted your post and I have a question. How is bending forward and pulling your knees up to the chest do more harm than good? Isn't that in contradiction than what is in Dean's book as a few exercises are just like that? I am just wondering as I don't understand the rationale behind this. Kevin

Ken, During your Epidural Injections period, did you continue to do the exercises on Dean's book? or did you totally stop and wait after the steroid work their way? I am getting my third Epidural injection tomorrow and wondering if I should stop the exercise for awhile or not. By the way, how is the...
