Possibly try supporting yourself on pillows instead of on your elbows for part two. (Awkward, I know.) Second... Although I don't like the idea since you'll be skipping a very important warm-up step, you might try going from step 1 directly to step 3. Just go slow and do a few where you only push pa...

Hey Randolph,

He's referring to the anti-spambot questions that "guests" have to answer when they post to the forum. They are one of the ways I found to prevent machines from automatically posting spam in the forum.

Hi Matt, Thanks for telling us your story. I assume you've read my articles on chiropractic and spinal manipulation, so there's no point in my going into it again. But let me ask you this; if chiropractors are able to bamboozle you or I, why is it such a stretch to understand that they can also bamb...

Yes, you should eventually be able to work some resistance training in a little at a time. I'm sure you have enough experience to judge what you can get away with. Just listen to what your body is telling you during and after your workouts... and if the symptoms worsen... you'll know you need to bac...

That's too funny considering I just wrote this: How Do You Spell...

(Now, I'll go correct my mistake... er, I mean typo.)

Thanks Dr. Dino, 8)

Hi Henry and Greg Yes, as you're discovering, there's more to rebuilding your back than just doing exercises ... there's a mental rebuilding that needs to happen, too, which participating in this forum really helps with. It's really very therapeutic during the early stages of sciatica to read that ...

Hi Karen, Well, I'm happy that you've made progress rebuilding your back. I wish I could say something to convince you to stay, but I've come to accept the fact that people tend to move on once their back problems start to improve. That's just the natural progression of things. Even so, it's still s...

Hi jaz, I edited your post -- and deleted the post you referred to -- because a number of people have been confused by that person's question. The person making that original post simply did not read the book carefully... and jumped to a wrong conclusion. Long story short: 1) The book was designed t...

Too bad they didn't include the South Beach Diet in the study. I haven't paid much attention to the popular diets, but it (South Beach) sounds like a more sensible, balanced program from what little I've heard about it.

I've never heard of the Ornish or LEARN diets.

Hi Leigh, Glad to see you're still improving. I agree... I find the spinal decompression machines like the drx9000 to be amusing. There is no question that they work... but it just makes no sense when you can accomplish the same results using very simple methods. By the way, were you able to get you...

I've never had any direct personal experience with Rolfing. I've read about it and have an opinion about it, but until I actually have time to do more extensive research into it, it wouldn't be fair or objective for me to say much about it. I can say I've heard from a lot of people who have tried it...
