Thanks for the kind words. I'm not certain if the tension you mention is that of psychological of physiological? However, I'll do some research and find out what I can so thanks for the heads up. I was able to just walk around Costco with my mom & dad, but used a cane and had to site down a couple t...

Well since I can't really do much, I'll just continue to post. My back has done its traditional much worse the next day bit and I'm in pain pretty much constantly despite being hopped up on Advil. Anyway, more kudos to Dean as I've been doing the basic exercises and although not much, it is helping....

I forgot to mention: Every time this happens, it is when I stand up straight that the pain comes. And I mean is COMES HARD! What is up with that? I have become very aware of my posture and work on it constantly. However, when this happens, I have to lean to the side significantly to be able to even ...

Relapse, grrrr...
Well, after over a year of no worries, sure enough my lack of activity over the last month caught up with me. I have been doing the exercises almost daily for over a year with great success. However, I've recently gone through a real emotional and tough break up (much more painful than this back stu...

I am in a similar position. How do I know when to get active again? And let me stress, I am ACTIVE. I can't really even walk right now, and spent 4 days last week in bed getting gradually better. Then I did some very mild exercises in the morning. After a day of sitting at the office, I came home an...

As near as I know it was started to be used with race horses that were having joint issues. After the studies done there concluded the benefits, they started looking at it for humans. As a former basketball player with the normal conditions of messed up knees and ankles, I can contest to the stuff b...

Can I put a twist on this? I am an avid motorcyclist with a sport bike. I am wondering what I should do to make sure I am OK on it. I have been mountain biking for over 10 years and never once had a back issue with it. As a buddy told me once when I wanted to put higher rearsets (pegs) on it, he sai...

From what I know, this is a very good core exercise. I would think that if you make sure to "suck your gut in" it would really work the core muscles very well. As a whole it is very much like the Free Motion machines starting to show up in gyms. They are basically a new twist on the cable machines o...

Well I certainly hope someone replies to my post! :D Someone mentioned glucosamine. All I can say is that stuff is a godsend! After a month of it about 5 or so years ago, my daily life of total pain went away. Being tall and playing basketball for a number of years, the little known violence of the ...

I have to admit that this is only my second post, but would like someone to explain a bit in detail the exercises Dean suggests. I have spent close to 20 years in the gym- and I do it right, not just a muscle head- and know the basic movements needed and I'd like to see if his stuff works. On the su...

6'7" and hating it for the first time ever!
Well after reading through the articles on the site, I thought I might delve a little deeper. As mentioned in the subject, I am 6'7" (and the shortest in my family before I get the "you're tall" bit) and at this very moment lying in bed since I can't even walk due to the pain in my back. I'm 33 and ...
