How I Really Feel About Chiropractors
By Dean Moyer
Author of Rebuild Your Back
Well, contrary to what you might think, I don't hate chiropractors. In fact, I don't really even think about them all that much.
And for what it's worth, all of the chiropractors I saw during my back pain years were really nice guys.
I still like each one of them.
What's more, I'm not really even mad at them… well, maybe a little… because I'm willing to accept that it's entirely possible that they were misled right along with the rest of us.
Chiropractors Lack Knowledge
Remember, they have no real medical training and are just as ignorant - and therefore just as gullible - to this fraud scheme as the rest of us.
How were they to know that what they were getting into was totally bogus?
Most chiropractors went into the profession knowing as much about health as the average man on the street and they came out of it knowing only what the school of chiropractic filled their heads with.
I have no doubt that many of them actually believe in chiropractic and think they're somehow helping people. (At the very least they're able to justify it to themselves on the way to the bank.)
Someone Needs to Speak Out
However, I feel stupid knowing that I allowed them to put one over on me.
And I must confess that I'm a little embarrassed to admit that they were able to take advantage of me for many, many years... whether that was their intention or not.
And even though I've chosen to simply chalk it up as a learning experience… I haven't agreed to just move on quietly.
No hard feelings. (Although I would like my money back.) But then I'm one of the lucky ones. I was never injured by a chiropractor and I managed to get out before they could do any irreparable damage to my spine… at least, none that I know of or could prove in a court of law.
Putting Chiropractors Out of Business
I certainly wouldn't go to a chiropractor ever again and I have no qualms about the fact that this website could possibly put all chiropractors everywhere out of business.
If that happens, it won't be because I targeted them in any way.
It will be because we as a group succeeded in helping our families and friends learn the truth about how to really treat lower back and neck pain.
Pro-Recovery Not Anti-Chiropractor
My intention in creating this website was not to create an anti-chiropractor (or even an anti-quack) website but rather to create a PRO-recovery site. And, in order to do that, I've got to tell the truth about all aspects of the back pain story even if it means stepping on a few toes along the way.
I intend to continue writing and publishing articles about chiropractic because I feel that anyone who has learned the truth about chiropractors has an obligation to warn others.
To remain silent is just not an option.
My Advice To Chiropractors
My advice to all the honest chiropractors out there is that you take a good long look at what you're involved in and do the right thing.
Go to medical school and become a real doctor or get into some other legitimate aspect of the healthcare industry.
Do it now while you can still hold your head up in your community. Don't wait until everyone finds out the truth about chiropractic and you're run out of town in disgrace.
Sincerely,
Dean
