Artificial Disc Replacement

Postby expreg » Thu Oct 09, 2008 2:32 am

Hi Guys

Im a new kid on the block, well 37 going on 67 and currently living down under.

My history; a 4th disc herniation at L4/5 (two discectomy operations 2004 and 2008 to resolve) and a bulging L5/S1 disc. I have been off work for 5 months now with recurrent herniation after the latest discectomy.

I try to have a very active life that has been rather subdued since 2003 so I am thinking of a total artificial disc replacement on both levels to atleast have some kind of active life.

I am in the process of doing some indepth researce before I make a decision and would like to hear from anyone who has experienced (or is thinking of) this treatment, when, cost, from what clinics and the outcomes.

Thank you in advance.

Mal
