Stretch device

Postby scottinmesa » Sat Jul 26, 2008 4:10 pm

Hello all,

I wanted to share with you my own very personal experience. with a device my sister gave me for Christmas.

It is called BackMagic Adjustable Stretching device. (Google it)

First my issues - I have had herniated disks going back 20 years. I was one of those that received the papaya juice disk injection (without dying from anaphylactic shock like some people did)
It worked for me wonderfully
Since then, I do have sporadic episodes - most from trying to push something heavy sideways - my back being a fulcrum. Like shoving a box sideways off a pickup truck bed. Ouch - the back was never made to do that.
My current issues are extruded disks (L5-S1 and L3-L4) - extruded being the worse from of herniation. My pain was typical of what youd see if you looked at a dermatome chart and figure it out. Sciatica, buttock, calfs, big toe pin pricks etc.

I've found that epidurals have helped get me started back into "rebuilding" mode. I just received two epidurals Friday and will take two days of bedrest for the effects to mature (though they continue 2-3 weeks but I will be back to work this Monday).
So back to this device - BackMagic. As PART of an OVERALL program I would highly suggest it.... after talking to your doctor first.

I put it on level one - low stretch - and felt better than I'd felt in years!!! It lasted 24 hours till my next session!!! Sadly, I figured if low was good then meduim must be better. WRONG I think it did a number on me and caused this latest, painful episode.
But give it some thought. I'll ask my Dr. if he's OK with me using it just on the low level in a couple weeks. But I'll tell you this - it was magical on low.

Best wishes
Scott

Hey Scott,

It looks like that TruBack as seen on TV, right?
That's what I was researching when I found this forum. I'm glad it works for ya... I guess you gotta go slow no matter what you do, though.

I'm 100% satisfied with the RYB book... I'm stronger than I've been in years!
