back problems after hip replacement

Postby muaII » Sun Jul 06, 2008 11:05 am

I have had both hips replaced- one two years ago, the other 3 years ago. My pelvis is very tilted. I am to start therapy tomorrow for a sacro-illiac that is out of alignment. I am in much pain. Before I had my hip surgeries, I was told I would need back surgery, but my hips would be replaced first. I can walk without a cane which I could niot do before the surgery. I do not want back surgery, as I have seen first hand several people who were worse off or no better after back surgery. Can exercises be done for my back that will not hurt my "new" hips? Hips were replaced due to severe arthritis.
