I have taken 6 lumbar tractions on a portable lumbar traction device, one time per week, for the past 6 weeks. Each traction is last for 15 minutes. The strength is 65 pounds each time. My weight is 155 pounds and I am 5 feet and 3 inch tall. My physical theaphiest tells me that the stregth could be increasing toward half of my weight 75 pounds but I ask her to set up the strength to 65 pounds. She tells me that repeat 65 pounds strength of traction on my lumbar will be no useful and will not be needed to improve my problem. I am worry about too much strength might hur1t or break my lumbar disc.

How many lumbar tractions I should have and how much strength should be applied on my lumbar traction without injury? My problem is interspace narrowings between discs in my lumbar which giving pressure on nerves to cause pain down to my hips and my legs.

Hi King

Why not follow your physical therapist's recommendation and just see what happens if you increase the traction strength to 75 lbs.?
