My sciatica is much better tho I do sometimes get some pain as I am doing the more advanced exercises and having days with a lot of driving/riding in the car. However the one thing that is somewhat puzzeling is ankle pain and weakness. It comes on suddenly when I am dancing. Seems to happen primarily with waltz where both ankes and legs are working to do rise and fall. It only happens with the left side where I had the sciatica. I am assuming it is related to that. anyone experience anything similar?

Joint Pain

Is the ankle pain a sharp pain or is it an achy burning pain like the sciatica? If it's a sharp pain, it may just be a normal joint injury (ligament, tendon, a little arthritis). If it's a sciatica symptom, it should go away once the nerve has a chance to heal. If not Dean's "Pain Relief Manual" has some good techniques for dealing with joint pain. Pay particular attention to the part about "passive mobilization." I've "cured" more sudden joint pain with that one technique than anything else I've ever tried. I'm starting to refer to it as my "miracle cure."

Hi Steven--
Thanks for the reply. It is a sharp pain. I finally got a solution from one of my teachers. He says it is fairly common and is a weight distribution problem. I tried his solution, which is to keep my weight further to the left at all times. It seems to work and helps to keep the balance over the standing leg. Otherwise the shift was causing me to roll on that ankle and it was just a matter of time doing that until the ankel said "no more". Now I just have to watch how much time I spend sitting at the computer or in the car at a stretch. Otherwise all is going well.
