numbness in both legs

Hi,

I am new to this site. I have paresthesia (tingling) in both legs since Nov 08. Was involved in a violent fight over money. I have been to chiro, and had a full spine mri series with contrast. fibromyalgia, MS were ruled out.

The physiatrist I just went to see called my condition 'neuralgia/neuropathy' of unknown origin. All bloods for diabetes, thyroid, celiac disease, Sjofgren's syndrome, vitamin B6, b12 and folate deficiency have been negative. He gave me Lyrica, which I hope to take sparingly.

I am still really strong (can lift weights and walk a lot). Movement is when I don't have the tingling. Sleeping and sitting are a problem for me. I don't feel the sensation when I am driving (because of the angle of the seat, I guess). The tingling does wear me out, though, and I can't do the things I need to do to take care of my home. I don't enjoy like like I should.

I believe that this is a neuromusculoskeletal problem. My ex-boyfriend, who is a biomedical engineer, recommended traction on a home-made slant-board.

Has anyone ever tried infrared laser therapy, or Reikki to heal their backs? Has anyone had my symptoms? Has Dean's book help them? I plan to download the book tonight and start the exercises.

Thanks for any insight you may have.

Hi,

I am in similar situation. But, mine is little different in a way that I have burning feet. I have all kinds of doctors including neurologist and neurosurgeons. I have problem in L5-S1 area (Bulging disc). But, if I sit for long time (2 hrs or so), I am getting prickling, tingling and burning pain in both my feet. Some times I get anywhere in the body including face. I mostly get the direct pain in my right knee.

Just want to hear from you what are you doing for your pain. I will also let you know if I follow some thing and it helps me. Please keep me posted
