Hi Pete,

Excellent suggestion. You definately can't rehydrate if you're dehydrated! And they say if you wait until you're thirsty to drink you're not drinking enough. (It would be so easy to make a joke right now...) 8)

Hi Guys, Good posts. I think we all understand how you feel. One thing to keep in mind is that Dean just created this forum a couple of months ago. So it's still very, very new. It's normal for you to get a lot of people reading your posts, but most of them will be too shy to post a reply even if th...

Hi Bob, I've never tried the portable sauna, but I've been in conventional saunas and hot tubs and they are great for relaxing the muscles. Don't know if they would help with back pain or not, since I never tried one back in my bad back days. You didn't mention whether you've tried Dean's book, Rebu...

Hi Mike, Boy, I wish I had some good advice I could give you. I really feel for your predicament. I know it's a small consolation, but your post serves as a good example of why to not have surgery. And so you've helped a lot of other people you'll never meet just by sharing your experience. So, I th...

Hi again Pantheon, Got to thinking about your post and my lame reply wishing I could give you some better advice... when I realized that I'd bought into the "severe injury" mindset for a moment there and that's what messed me up. I was thinking 'Boy, this guy really injured himself' even though in t...

Hi Pantheon,

Welcome to the group. Can't say I've ever had anything as severe as your injury. Sounds like more than just a minor back injury from your description. Hope you get to feeling better.

Hi Brant, Welcome to the group. How does that saying go... "Ye shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free..." okay, I know it's out of context, but that's what just popped into my head. 8) Seems like somebody else posted something a while back about that "short leg scam" that chiros use. ...

Hi Mike, You wouldn't be a chiropractor would you? :) Seriously, I'm sure there are some good chiropractors out there who are honest and actually trying to help people. What is interesting about your post and something you might want to think about is the fact that you still have to see him after 12...

Hi Joe, Glad to hear that your back is improving. I know how you feel. Nothing ever worked for my back until I discovered Dean's book either. As far as who Dean is all I can say is I know that that's his real name. I do know he's not a doctor and doesn't want anyone to think of him as "a back pain g...

Hi Skumar, The fact that the pain does go away is a good sign. Means that more than likely you are in the 90% range of people who can rebuild their backs. Your best bet would be to get Dean's book and give the basic exercises a try for about a month before you start to ease back into your old sports...

Hi again krd,

If you like the inversion table there's nothing wrong with using it. I've heard other people say they like them. By the way, Dean has a good article on Sciatica and gadgets: Sciatica Treatment Options

Keep us posted on your progress,

Hi Sandy,

The doctor was giving you good news. Your husband's back pain is nothing more serious than a sprain. Consider yourself lucky, get Dean's book and fix the problem.

Waterbeds are bad for your back. You need a mattress that will give you firm stable back support.

Hi John, As I said in my response to your earlier post. I have never used drugs or pills of any kind to treat my back. I don't know anything about them and therefore can't help you with that. The only thing that worked for me was Dean's book. As far as dealing with the inflamation, it sounds like yo...

Hi Ken, welcome to the group,

To answer your question, I suppose it depends on your overall physical condition. Check with your doctor and see what he says.
