Hi Ray,

Welcome to the group. You can definately do both programs at the same time. I do exercises from both as a regular habit throughout the day just to keep everything working smoothly.

Hi gg,

Welcome to the group. The book should answer a lot of your questions and help with those sciatica symptoms. Keep us posted on your progress.

What a lot of people don't know is that there is a major muscle group that supports your lower back that is also responsible for controlling deep breathing. geeDub you are unfortunately learning of it's existence the hard way. Dean's RYB book is the only one I've ever seen that incorporates a breath...

I don't think that three weeks of bed rest would be long enough to have that much impact on your recovery. If it was three months then I would say yeah definately, but 3 weeks probably didn't make that much difference. Chiropractors, God bless 'em, where would we be without their help. I agree with ...

I have to correct my previous post. My wife just reminded me that we got the first edition of RYB for free and that we decided to donate after it fixed my back. As usual, she's right and I'm wrong. I must have been thinking of something else. Sorry. It was almost three years ago and I've slep...

Hi randolph, The emoticons are easy. Just place your cursor where you want it to appear and then click on the one you want. (A shorthand version will appear in your text and you can continue typing.) I had a bad back that flared up at least two or three times a year. That went on for about 10 years....

Hi Rob, Welcome to the group and thanks for posting. Things have been so slow around here lately, I thought everybody must have gone to the Moon or something... I agree with everything randolph says and just wanted to add that the exercises you're doing now probably won't help your back much at this...

Okay, I'll play Devil's advocate... In all fairness, DG your injury sounds like an innocent accident. Not something that was the fault of chiropractic per se. Which I realize is neither here nor there. Just don't want to blame the first chiropractor for something that could have happened to anyone. ...

Hi dcyphure, Try reading some of the back pain articles, especially the "Bad Back is Not a Medical Problem" one. I think you'll find that they answer most of your questions. I've been on Dean about changing the titles to several of his articles because they make you think they only apply to back pai...

Thanks for the progress report, randolph. Whatever you do, let that yard work wait. You'll get a lot more done in less time once your back is 100%. The only goal on your mind right now should be recovery! If you get to feeling restless, just stand up and go for a walk. (That's assuming that walking ...

Hi Lulu, Just reading your posts and I agree with Steven, a second opinion would definately be a good idea. Also wanted to mention that you shouldn't equate the exercises that the doctor had you do in a testing situation to how you would respond to the very gentle exercises that Dean has you do in h...

I agree with krd, As long as you aren't resting in bed you'll be fine. Listen to your body and go with your gut instincts. Get up and move around as much as you can and keep active. Don't over do it. Try the exercises as soon as you can, but like krd says, if you have to wait then that's what your b...

Hey guys, Every chiropractor I've ever talked to about rebuilding your back is quick to agree with the principles in Dean's book. They all, without exception, say they advocate rebuilding as the most sensible course of action... (along with chiropractic adjustments, of course.) Trouble is, I don't r...
