Milt- I'll be short. Go get this thing checked out. I had someone very dear to me go to her Dr for the same symptoms. He diagnosed it as a spider bite. Turns out the swelling was caused by something much worse, which was only found when it was too late. Respiratory and circulatory diseases can exhib...

Scott- I do my stretching when I have time, if it happens to be after a shower than so be it. I've never noticed any difference.

Bruce- the best thing you could do for yourself is to download the RYB program and get to it. I've had physicians diagnose me with everything under the sun but never had any relief from my pain until I went on the program.........man I'm starting to sound like a paid endorser..... Anway, downoad the...

Karen- In a sense you need to just 'chill'. I've been a user of the RYB program for a while now, have researched Dr. Sarno's books and have noted that, in a nutshell, tension makes lower back pain worse. So, at some level he makes sense, but the rest of his theories are a little out there. In additi...

Sciaticus......I like that....... The key tho this program, from my personal experience is to make sure you read the book carefully and continue to reference it, even after you feel you know what you're doing. Also, don't rush. Listen to your body and only do what's comfortable. That's about all I c...

Matt-I'm glad you found this site; there are a bunch of people here who, I'm sure, will help you get through this. There are some good articles in the 'Articles' section regarding disc problems. If you haven't read these yet I suggest you do so. In the 6 years I tried to get help for my back pain I ...

Thank you both for your input. I'll find the book and give it a shot Todd, I'm glad to hear your finally getting some relief from your pain. Stick with it and keep us posted. Dr.Dean, your program has given me very good results where everything else (the list would crash your server, so I'll leave i...

TMS question

TMS seems to come up a lot in this forum. I looked into it via Google (can't find the book locally) and I appear to be a possible candidate based on the questionaires I found. I've shown progress using the RYB program and am confident I'm headed in the right direction using such. Here's my question-...

Thanks Randolph- I've transitioned into level two of the program, like you said, gradually. So far, so good. I'm actually having periods of relief from the pain, which is a Godsend. I'm sleeping much better and don't wake up stiff and achy like I used to (unless I roll on my stomache while sleeping,...

From what I gather the program is good for most issues including bulging discs. If you haven't done so you should read the articles in the Articles section of this sight. There's a lot of good info there. Your situation sounds a lot like what I was going through; a whole lot of mights and maybes wit...

Hey dodd- I was at wits end after 6 years of pain. I'm not sure I could do 20, so kudos to you. The only real advice I can give you is to be sure you read the book carefully and follow directions to the 'T'. Stick with the beginning stretches and only do what is comfortable. You should notice some i...

OK- Three weeks in. I've stuck with the program as best as I can (work and kids, I'm sure most of you can relate). I'm definitely in better condition now than I was a month ago. I'm still on the beginning stretches, focusing on the cobra, hip shrug and side bend. I'm also terribly conscious of my po...

howdy redshoes- I'll keep this short. I too had a problem with my right hip being higher than my left, which was always dignosed as a leg-length discrepency. My right shoulder also dropped about an inch lower than my left. I also suffer from sciatic type problems, primarily in the left leg. I notice...

Hey Karen- A couple of things I'd like to mention here. First, I would only take at face value any diagnosis you are handed regarding LBP from any physician. According to the many I've seen over the years I suffer from 9 or so different problems; everyhting from ankylosing spondylitis to degenerativ...

Hi Dabonza- I've had the same problem in the past. Some mornings it would take me 10 minutes just to get out of bed and even then I wuold walk around for another 15 minutes hanging onto walls and looking like I had a pole stuck up my a** !! A couple of things I've noted over the years in rel...
